Oakville Rock Start Season With A Pair Of Losses

The Oakville Rock opened up the 2025 Major Series Lacrosse Season with a 13-5 loss to Brooklin on Monday night at home, followed by a 10-5 loss to the back-to-back defending Mann Cup Champion Six Nations Chiefs a night later on the road.

While an 0-2 start is not where the team wants to be, there are definitely some positive signs through a pair of games.

Landon Kells was terrific between the pipes on Tuesday night in the loss to Six Nations, solidifying the Rock's one-punch in goal with Rock veteran Troy Holowchuk.  The two will share the goaltending duties this summer.  Also, up front, Josh Dawick continues to build on his career-high 42 goal NLL season with the Toronto Rock by asserting himself as Oakville's number one weapon.

There will also be some exciting reinforcements coming soon, most notably Princeton lacrosse star Chad Palumbo who should give the left side of the offence a boost.

The Rock are at home on Monday night against the Owen Sound North Stars at 7:30pm at the TRAC.  That same night the Oakville Jr. A Buzz will play at home at 8pm at the TRAC, making for an Oakville Lax Doubleheader.  Fans can pay their admission to either game and enjoy freedom of movement between both games.
